Surf & Tour Reviews

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nikki flies to Hawaii to compete in a video contest, where she runs into her highschool crush Julian. Julian has a surfing injury and months of unsuccessful therapy prevent him from shaping boards. But running into Nikki again maybe just what he needs to recover and for Nikki, winning the contest and healing Julian’s broken pieces proves to be as much of a struggle as getting back on her own surfboard and braving the waves of the turbulent sea. Can love conquer all? Read this amazing book to find out.

⭐⭐⭐⭐Surf and Tour by Ellis Summers is my third book of the author. And I love her way of writing , short ,crisp and story on point. 💙

This is a story about Nikita Young , a surfer and theparist who finds herself participating in a Shores of Hawaii Competition , where she has to shoot a 60second movie about the shore life in Honolulu , Hawaii. But , fate had something else planned for her , on the day she lands in Hawaii she crosses her path with school time crush Julian Vaughn , who owns a Surf board company and surfer himself going through a injury.

As , the book paces along , we see Nikki and Julian falling for each other with entanglement of ex - girlfriends , the competitors , the cute Niece Daize , Aussie television show and many more.

It was very easy breezy read ⛱️🌊. You'll just love the character Nikki, Diaze and Julian. Cute romantic book , although the author could have added a few more twists made it bit more spicy. 😬 Apart from that , you'll enjoy the book 📖
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Teen crush to crushin’ it?

My mother grew up in La Jolla (just south of The OC) and she surfed every day in high school. Some days, it was before & after school as well as during her lunch period! However, she did leave the surf lingo behind so I was left with ValSpeak. The author makes up for my poor education with tons of beach and water references.

Here’s one that even has a lesson for non-surfers: ‘Secrets were like kelp. While in the shadowy forests of the deep sea, they never interrupted our lives. But once exposed to the sun, they stunk up the air around everyone involved.’

It’s great when families have hobbies that they do together. Both Julian’s & Nikki’s families are into surfing and have passed down the joy to the next generation(s). My dad, brother, and I all played soccer for years; it was our entire weekend during season. But these characters? They LIVE their love of the ocean.

Some sage advice from the author: ‘A champion shakes it off’ 'Don't get into arguments with fools’

I even learned something new – hands-free crutches!

I’m definitely going to continue reading this author’s works. Already have the Grant series #’s 0-3 (‘Jumping Into Fire’, ‘A Smuggler's Last Song’, ‘Quinn & Barrett’, and ‘Granted’) as well as ‘Complicated Strangers’ and ‘Hunting for Blue’.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great story

I was really hooked with Nikki's story and then Julian enters. This is quite a story of rebuilding your life and how to move forward. This was an inspiring story and felt very real. The romance was a great addition to the story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Two shredded hearts overcome everything to rediscover their love of surfing and each other. A romance perfect for summer, Surf & Tour will win your heart. Ellis Summers has written a touching story about overcoming fear, falling in love, and taking chances. The characters are easy to connect with while the descriptive narration takes the reader inside the surfing world. The romance is unexpected and will move you. So, grab your favorite beach chair and see why I loved this book.

Let’s start with the characters. I connected with Nikki right away. Her fear is realistic and relatable. Her inner strength, though, is what I love most. When faced with her fear…well, I won’t spoil it for you. Needless to say, the ending is emotional. Julian is also a character worth cheering for. He’s an injured soul and one I also connected with.

The romance is expertly executed with a slow-burn vibe. This author normally writes romantic suspense. This is her first contemporary romance and I enjoyed it immensely. I especially like the interplay between Nikki and Julian. Their chemistry is off the charts.

If you’re looking for a beach read/summer romance, you’ll love Surf & Tour. If you’re a part of the surfing community, this book is for you.

My Rating: 5 stars
